A general home inspection usually takes two to three hours, during which time the house is examined from the foundation to the roof. The inspection includes observation of structural components such as the roof, foundation, basement, exterior and interior walls, chimney, doors and windows, plumbing, electrical, heating/air conditioning, systems and functionality of major appliances.
